Anne Thurland - Jens Larson Photo Collection
Price not available
A young Virgin Islander named Jens Larsen used a Kodak box camera to photograph the island of St. Croix between 1935 and 1937 throughout his brief 18-year life. Jens was able to document the people and locations of St. Croix during its early years as an American territory because he was the quickest male swimmer on the island and an all-around athlete. In addition to authoring his biography, his niece Anne Thurland has digitally scanned and restored his collection of photographs, identifying the subjects and locations for the enjoyment of many future generations.
